Permits - General Instructions

Online:

1. Review the Instructions and PDF version related to the permit type/use that you are applying for. They will identify any required documents you will need to have available to upload during the online application process.  Applications missing the required documents, may be rejected.

2. Please note: If structural drawings are required and you would like to use the pre-made "Cross-section" drawing, it can be found here.

By Mail or In Person:

1. Review the Instructions related to the permity type/use that you are applying for.

2. Use the downloadable/printable "PDF Application" related to the permit type/use that you are applying for. Complete the application and return it to the Village Building and Code Enforcement Office.

Payment

After cost of permit is determined, you will be contacted by email or phone with the amount. Payment is required before approval of the permit.

To select a permit application, use the search box below.  The system will filter permit types as you scroll.   You can search by permit type or permit use.  Permit use will list various permits under each type.   You may also scroll through the list.  After ensuring you have all the required information for upload, click the "Apply Online" link for the required permit. 

Please note there are some projects that do not require a building permit. If you do not find your project type on the list below and you have any questions at all after reviewing the following page: Building Permit Requirements, please do not hesitate to call the office at 315-331-4770. A stop work order will be placed on any project requiring a building permit if work has started before obtaining one.
