General Instructions

Submit a Citizen Complaint for a Code Enforcement issue using the steps below. Please have the following required information ready to ensure a smooth submittal:

· Address and/or Parcel Number (location of the complaint)
     
      o Please Note: The address and/or parcel number must be located inside City limits.

· Description of concern

· Photos or documents (optional but helpful)

· Your contact information (anonymous complaints are accepted but limited information can slow investigation)

If you do not see your complaint type shown in the list below, another city department or other agency may be responsible. For questions regarding Code Enforcement please reach out to our Permitting Department at [email protected] or 360-403-3551.

Portal Submittal Instructions

Step 1: Apply Online

· Choose from the list of Complaint options in the list below or by using the search box. Click on the Apply Online hyperlink located on the right side of the page to move forward with the complaint submittal and navigate you to the next page.

Step 2: Select Land, Building or Suite Location

· Choose the property where the complaint is located by entering at least one of the options shown (Address, Parcel Number or Owner) and clicking the blue Parcel Number hyperlink.

Step 3: Request Details

· Enter the Description of Concern. Please provide a clear description of your concern.

· Choose Code Enforcement as the Request Type.

· Choose an option from the Request Sub-Type drop down list. Please note: If you do not see an option that fits your description please contact us at the information listed below and we can assist you. In the event of an emergency, please dial 911

· Enter the Requestor information (First Name, Last Name, Email, Phone, Address). Should you prefer to remain anonymous please use Anonymous as the Requestor name and only complete the contact information you prefer to provide. Please note: If contact information is not provided a Code Enforcement representative will not be able to contact you if needed for updates or questions pertaining to the case.

· Click Submit at the bottom of the page. This completes your online complaint submittal.

Step 4: Track Complaint Progress in the Citizen Portal

· You may view your complaint submittal by logging into Citizen Portal.

· Choose My Dashboard on the left side bar.

· Click on My Complaints to view all complaints that you have submitted.
